Musica Sacra of New York Spring Gala
05/17/2010 - By New York, NY

Musica Sacra of New York Spring Gala

Musica Sacra of New York held its annual Spring Gala at the Racquet & Tennis Club on Monday, May 17. The Gala has two purposes – to honor outstanding contributions to the arts and promote financial sponsorship of Music Sacra’s musical offerings.

Soprano Julianne Baird was presented with the Artistic Achievement Award, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke was given the Rising Star Award, and Edward and Maya Manley received the Service to the Arts Award. Michael and Kay Jaffee of The Waverly Consort, Steven Blier of New York Festival of Song, and Kent Tritle, Music Director of Musica Sacra, presented the awards. Julianne Baird, cellist Arthur Fiacco, and bassist Roger Wagner provided music for the evening.

Attendees were given the opportunity to “compose a musical score” by contributing towards specific features of the 2010-2011 concert season which were represented by musical notes. The generous donations will enable Musica Sacra to expand the concert season and continue to present choral performances of the highest quality to New York City audiences.
